Ex-DIO and DREAM CHILD Guitarist CRAIG GOLDY: “Ronnie James Dio Was the First and Last of His Kind”

In this day and age, the term supergroup has been used exhaustively, and in many occasions the end result is smaller than the sum of its parts. However, every now and then a band of musicians with significant calibre seems to get it right. That is the case with Dream Child, the new endeavour of Craig Goldy, Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE, DIO) and Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, OPERATION: MINDCRIME), who are accompanied by Wayne Findlay (MSG) on keyboards, and an uncannily Dio-sounding singer, Diego Valdez (ex-HELKER). Their first album Until Death Do We Meet Again was released last September 14th, and contains 12 tracks whose mission statement is to capture the spirit of bands like Rainbow, Dio and Deep Purple

Sonic Perspectives collaborator Rodrigo Altaf spoke with Craig Goldy a few days before the album release about the formation of this new band, the writing process for the new album, and a few of his other endeavours, such as Rough Cutt, Giuffria, writing with David Lee Roth and touring with Budgie and his longtime friend, the late Ronnie James Dio.
