Today, Seven Spires shares ‘Portrait of Us’, the fourth single from their new studio album “A Fortress Called Home” out today via Frontiers Music. The track is accompanied by a new music video which is available below.

The band shared this about the track: “A parade through some of our early influences, it’s arrogant, it’s playful, it might not know its place, it’s an irritating little brat of a song, but we love it all the same.”

Frontwoman Adrienne Cowan comments: “I’m not sure if he would agree, but after over 10 years of listening to and studying songs that Sascha Paeth wrote or produced, this might be the closest I feel I’ve ever gotten to honoring his influence on my artistry.”

Guitarist Jack Kosto adds: “This one has some really cool almost hidden or understated riffs and guitar parts that I’m super proud of which are influenced by my earlier rock n’ roll days, and maybe some older school Opeth songs. It’s a bit of a bitch to play, but in a really fun and peacocky kind of way that I suppose is really on brand for us.”

“A Fortress Called Home”, Seven Spires‘ fourth studio album is the highly-anticipated follow-up to “Gods of Debauchery” (2021) and takes their signature blend of symphonic power and extreme metal to new heights, dragging the listener to the deepest abysses in the process.

Adrienne Cowan comments: “I visited the void twice while writing this album. I don’t know which begat the other. It’s ugly. I love it and I hate it, and I think it’s our best work yet.”

“A Fortress Called Home” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Jack Kosto who had this to say about it: “If our previous albums have intended to take you on an emotional journey of our design, this album forces you to confront the one of your own making. Good luck and enjoy!”

Seven Spires’ upcoming 2024 touring schedule includes a headline set at Mile High Power Fest in Denver, CO, in August, and their first-ever headlining Japanese tour with Lords of the Trident in December.

Seven Spires is an American symphonic metal band from Boston, MA. Since their inception in 2013 at Berklee College of Music, these best friends have forged their home in the darker corners of the melodic metal world with strikingly emotional filigree and relentless technical prowess. Known as much for their melancholic concept albums as their penchant for pushing genre limits, they draw influence from across the spectrum of metal and beyond, reaching ravenously into jazz, late Romantic-era orchestral music, cinematic soundscapes, and more.

Outside of Seven Spires, Adrienne Cowan tours the world singing with Avantasia and Sonic Symphony. Jack Kosto specializes in audio engineering, production, mixing, and mastering. Peter de Reyna works as an artist manager at his own De Reyna Management agency and also plays bass in prog outfit Ok Goodnight. “A Fortress Called Home” features former drummer Chris Dovas’ final musical performance with Seven Spires.
