Dutch guitarist Adrian Vandenberg, best known for his years with Whitesnake, will celebrate his 50th anniversary as a professional musician in 2027 with a series of special projects, including a documentary, a new album, a biography and a one-time concert in April 2027 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Netherlands.
Vandenberg announced the plans in a June 16 social media post: “2027 is gonna be a super exciting year! It’ll be 50 years ago that I formed my first semi-pro heavy blues-rock band Teaser, landed a record deal right away, recorded an album and in 1977 the first single got released. European tours and shows followed. The start of an exciting journey in rock! In April, a unique, one-time-only celebration show will take place in the 013 venue in Tilburg, Netherlands. Songs from Vandenberg, Whitesnake, Manic Eden and Moonkings will be performed, and special guests will join us on stage for this unique festive evening. In this special year a documentary, a unique new album and a biography about yours truly’s rather tumultuous life will get released among other celebratory actions.”
Vandenberg joined Whitesnake in 1987 and played the guitar solo on the worldwide hit “Here I Go Again.” He also co-wrote the band’s entire Slip of the Tongue album (1989) and toured alongside guitar virtuoso Steve Vai.
Before his Whitesnake tenure, Vandenberg had broken through internationally with his namesake band, known for the hit “Burning Heart,” and shared stages with Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, and Scorpions. He was a member of Whitesnake for 13 years and later launched Vandenberg’s Moonkings before making a full comeback in 2020 with his renewed Vandenberg band.
The most recent Vandenberg studio album is Sin (August 2023, Mascot Records), produced by Bob Marlette (Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie). Earlier this year, Vandenberg toured under the “My Whitesnake Years” banner, revisiting highlights from the band’s legendary 1990 Slip of the Tongue world tour.
