Currently on the road supporting their 2018’s studio release God Damn Evil, STRYPER have been on a continuously successful streak since 2013 when they released No More Hell to Pay. The faith-driven rockers have endured by continually writing, playing and producing over the years. God Damn Evil shines with a modern heaviness and edge that carries the band’s sound into the 21st century and beyond, arguably classifying pound for pound as STRYPER best album to date. Uplifting and relevant, the band still packs venues in 2019. Front-man Michael Sweet, drummer Robert Sweet, bassist Perry Richardson and guitarist Oz Fox maintain their enthusiasm for the band, the fans and their relationship with God.

Expert follower of Christian metal and contributor to the Sonic Perspectives team Michael “MettleAngel” Francisco sat down with Sweet before their recent show to talk about a myriad of topics concerning the album, his upcoming book sequel, the band’s longevity and Michael‘s upcoming tenth solo record including a host of incredible players like Todd LaTorre, Joel Hoekstra, Jeff Loomis, Gus G, Tracii Guns and more.
