Swedish epic doom metallers Sorcerer have released yet another new single and video – their tribute version of Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Waiting for Darkness” – through Metal Blade Records. Watch the video for this superb rendition below.
Before gearing back up to write on their new studio album for Metal Blade Records, and to have some fun during the pandemic vacuum, Sorcerer shows reverence to their musical heroes and influencers. On this list of respect there is of course no escaping Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebel Ozzy Osbourne! Sorcerer chose the final track of Ozzy‘s 1983 solo album “Bark at the Moon” – “Waiting for Darkness” – to be the fourth single and powerful finale of their four-track digital (only) EP “Reverence.”
Since Sorcerer‘s latest release, “Lamenting Of The Innocent” (2020), the pandemic restrictions have impacted the whole music scene and interfered with promotional aspirations and touring. While Sorcerer‘s main focus lies on creating new material for a fourth record with Metal Blade and moving forward, the vacuum of the pandemic offered the band some spare time for a fun side project.
In the previous months Sorcerer have already released acclaimed cover singles of Rainbow‘s classic “Gates Of Babylon“, Black Sabbath‘s “When Death Calls” and Saxon‘s epic “Crusader“.
