In This Moment has released the explosive new single “Sleeping with the Enemy” via Better Noise Music. Along with the previously released “Heretic” (featuring Kim Dracula), the track marks the first taste of the band’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled ninth album and debut for Better Noise Music. More details will be announced in due course.
Maria Brink commented: “With ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’ and our upcoming album, we’re confronting the darkness — whether it’s inside us or external. It’s about looking that darkness in the face and transforming it into empowerment. We feel so exhilarated and ready to show the world what we’ve conjured up.” Elsewhere, Brink also features on the current Eva Under Fire single “Villainous,” which is climbing toward the Top 10 at Active Rock radio.
In This Moment has been active since 2005, led by Brink (vocals) alongside co-founder and lead guitarist Chris Howorth, bassist Travis Johnson, guitarist Randy Weitzel and drummer Kent Diimmel. The band has amassed over two billion streams globally, earned a Grammy nomination for “The In-Between” (Best Metal Performance, 2020), and placed albums including Black Widow (2014) and Ritual (2017) in the Top 25 of the Billboard 200. Their seventh full-length, Mother (2020), was produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch). Most recently, the band released their eighth studio album, Godmode (2023, BMG), featuring “The Purge,” a cover of Björk‘s “Army of Me,” “Damaged” (feat. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills) and “I Would Die for You,” which appeared on the John Wick: Chapter 4 soundtrack.
