Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann turned 60 years old today, January 4, and local artist Roxxy erected a statue of his likeness in the city of Rostock, in a meadow in the immediate vicinity of the Evershagen Süd stop, where Lindemann had lived as a child. However the statue only stood in its place for a few hours before getting stolen.
According to German news outlet NDR, the statue was stolen less than 24 hours after it was put up. NDR is asking anyone with any information on the theft to reach out to the Rostock police headquarters.
“Early happy birthday, Till Lindemann. I made you a statue,” wrote Roxxy in her Instagram post about the statue on the night of January 3. “Till Lindemann was born 04.01.1963 in Leipzig and grew up to become the biggest Rockstar of germany as the singer of famous Rammstein. The statue is located in Rostock, Evershagen in front of the house where Till lived in his youth.”
