Leading independent festival promoter and producer Danny Wimmer Presents has partnered with Twitch, a leading interactive livestreaming service. The DWPresents channel will feature original live content with acclaimed music artists and global talent, reaching a worldwide audience.
The all-new DWPresents Twitch channel begins streaming on Thursday, June 3 at 4:30pm PDT / 7:30pm EDT and will stream original content six days a week. DWPresents on Twitch will introduce new shows including: The Writer’s Circle hosted by Fever 333’s Jason Aalon Butler and featuring Crown The Empire, Escape The Fate, Nothing More and Spiritbox; and The Lab, hosted by TikTok sensation and musician Jeris Johnson and SiriusXM’s Caity Babs.
The DWPresents channel will also become the home for the already popular That Space Zebra Show, hosted by Bobby Schubenski (Blackcraft founder), Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) and Josh Balz (Strange Kids, ex-Motionless In White). That Space Zebra Show will continue to broadcast 4x weekly and incorporate new musical features including Riff Wars with Wes Borland and Starving Artists, as well as launch the Battle For The Big Stage: Road to Rockville Edition, where a band can win a slot at the 2021 Welcome To Rockville event being held from Thursday, November 11 through Sunday, November 14. Welcome To Rockville is Florida’s Biggest Rock Experience–held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida–and will include must-see sets from bands including Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Disturbed, Deftones, Rob Zombie, Staind, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Mudvayne, with over 70 bands performing.
On June 3, DWPresents will kick off its channel with an unprecedented six-hour live broadcast from Musicians Institute’s LiveHouse Hollywood, hosted by That Space Zebra Show and unveiling the new programming. The program will include the conclusion of Space Zebra’s “Road to LA” competition, with two fan chosen bands battling head-to-head live for the chance to win a demo deal with Alchemy Recordings. Throughout the day, viewers will hear from bands including Crown The Empire, Escape The Fate, Fever 333, Nothing More and Spiritbox, taking a deep dive into the programming to come. The day will be topped off with an exciting headlining performance by Atreyu.
In addition, DWPresents on Twitch will feature four days of select performances and content from the Welcome To Rockville 4-Day Festival Livestream: backstage interviews, commentary with artists, games and trivia with bands. Fans should expect content from other DWP festivals and events as well.
Here are additional details about DWPresents on Twitch programming, all produced by DWPresents:
That Space Zebra Show: Hosted by Bobby Schubenski, Wes Borland and Josh Balz, That Space Zebra Show is a collection of weekly programming connecting fans with the music industry, and the core program for DWPresents on Twitch. That Space Zebra Show variations include:
- Starving Artists: This show gives up-and-coming music artists the opportunity to get advice from top music industry veterans and helps them raise funds to continue their career in music.
- Riff Wars: Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland takes on anyone who wants to face him in a one-on-one guitar riff-off. Applicants submit entries and are selected at random to face off against Wes. Each battle’s winner will be determined by Twitch Chat.
- Battle For The Big Stage: One lucky music act will have the chance to play live at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Daytona Beach. Fans will vote on qualifying acts during weeks 1-3 of each month. The weekly winners will all battle at the end of the month to move on to the grand finale. The four finalists will then perform in the finale, with the winner heading to Rockville in November.
The Writer’s Circle: This show takes viewers behind the scenes to learn how their favorite songs take shape. Viewers are invited to be a part of the creative process and make music with their favorite bands in real time, working together to write riffs, lyrics and drum lines. Hosted by Jason Aalon Butler from Fever 333, featured guests and performers will include acclaimed artists such as Crown The Empire, Escape The Fate, Nothing More and Spiritbox.
The Lab: Hosts Jeris Johnson and Caity Babs kick off the weekend with a party of top covers performed live by new guest talent each week. Fans will have the opportunity to assist in recreating, reproducing and reimagining their favorite rock songs influenced by other genre of music, producing an all-new style of song. Fan participation and live chat is encouraged in this live party session.
Twitch is the world’s interactive livestreaming service, with over 2.5 million viewers at any given time. DWP will use Twitch’s interactivity and live elements to connect the Twitch community with rock bands, reinventing how fans and artists interact.
