The Black Crowes are giving fans a taste of what’s to come on their upcoming box set of their chart-topping sophomore album, “The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion,” with the release of a previously unreleased studio recording of their song “Miserable.” Stream it below.

The track is just one of the 14 never-before-heard recordings that will be included in the box set, which is set to be released on December 15 via American Recordings/UMe. The super deluxe edition of the box set will also feature rare B-sides, a live performance from Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1993, and a newly remastered album from the original 1/4″ production master.

“Miserable” is a classic Black Crowes track, with its soaring vocals, catchy guitar riffs, and driving rhythm section, highlighting their unique blend of Southern rock, blues, and soul.

The album, originally released in 1992, soared to the top of the U.S. Billboard album chart, securing its place in the annals of rock history. Named after a post-Civil War southern hymnal, the record is celebrated for its timeless tracks that have become staples in The Black Crowes‘ repertoire.

For this upcoming release, brothers Rich and Chris Robinson, alongside producer George Drakoulias, delved into the archives to curate a collection that goes beyond the familiar. Pre-order any of the new versions HERE.
