Slipknot is gearing up for a memorable 25th-anniversary tour this December to celebrate their groundbreaking 1999 self-titled album. However, it appears that California might witness something special even before that grand event.

A puzzling billboard spotted near the venues of this month’s Coachella and last October’s Power Trip festivals has fans buzzing with anticipation. Reddit user deadendandrea shared a snapshot of the billboard featuring Slipknot’s distinctive logo alongside cryptic phrases like “One Night Only”, “Long May You Die”, and the URL of a revamped website, You Can’t Kill Me (youcantkillme.com). The site has been given a nostalgic 1999 makeover, complete with a scrolling message urging visitors to “pay attention… the answers are all around you…”

“Slipknot” burst onto the scene in 1999 with their debut album released through Roadrunner Records, which later achieved double platinum status certified by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA). Despite this being their mainstream debut – and somehow referred to as their debut – , the band had earlier released “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” independently in 1996, before the inclusion of vocalist Corey Taylor.

In a recent interview with Kerrang!, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan confirmed the band’s plans for intimate shows commemorating the album’s anniversary. “Yeah, we’re going to play that album from beginning to end,” Crahan revealed. “But I sure as hell am not going to just succumb to the corporate world and give all those people what they want. They’re going to get it. But you know what we’re going to get? We’re going to have fun, too.”

Crahan hinted at surprise performances, saying, “So that means small shows and you won’t know until you hear it. And if you heard it, you’re already too late and you’re not going to see it. So you better open up your soul, because then you’ll feel it and you won’t have to hear it because I’m being very serious.”

With these mysterious teasers in place, Slipknot fans around the world are on high alert, eagerly waiting to uncover the band’s next move. Stay tuned!
