Six Feet Under is hitting the road this fall with the Midnight In Hell 2025 U.S. tour, marking another major chapter for the long-running death metal outfit. The tour will feature support from Exhorder, Wretched, and Incite, with Six Feet Under also scheduled to perform solo at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento on October 5.
Frontman Chris Barnes shared his excitement in a statement: “After a highly successful return to touring, I’m very excited to get back on the road and continue the mayhem this fall! Our friends Exhorder, Wretched and Incite will be our accomplices this time around. We will be dusting off some classic Six Feet Under material and three songs we’ve never played live, including the fan favorite “The Noose”! See you this fall and don’t forget we’ll be at Aftershock festival Sunday, October 5th!”
The band has also begun recording the follow-up to 2024’s Killing For Revenge, with drummer Marco Pitruzzella recently finishing drum tracking.
On June 24, Barnes offered a recording update: “Lord Marco completed tracking the drums for the new SFU album last week! Jack [Owen] will be heading down to Florida in a couple of weeks to start recording guitar at AudioHammer with Jason Suecof! The new songs are groove ridden masterpieces! More info to come!”
Released through Metal Blade Records in May 2024, Killing For Revenge marked the second collaboration between Barnes and guitarist Jack Owen (formerly of Cannibal Corpse) since reuniting for 2020’s Nightmares Of The Decomposed. Owen also produced Killing For Revenge, which featured a guest solo by Jason Suecof on Neanderthal, and was mixed and mastered by Chaz Najjar at Badlands Recording in Denver.
Reflecting on the current lineup in a 2024 press release, Barnes said: “Jeff and Marco have been with me for about 10 years. I’m really fortunate that I have probably the best musicians in metal. If you look at it, we have the same amount of original members as Cannibal Corpse. Jeff is a killer bass player. Marco‘s probably the best drummer out there. Jack‘s the greatest songwriter I’ve ever been involved with over the 30-plus years I’ve been doing music professionally. And Ray is just a phenomenal guitarist who can play everything from jazz to death metal. The lineup now is untouchable.”
