This fall, Seether and Daughtry will team up for a U.S. co-headlining tour spanning more than 20 cities. The run will kick off on October 1 in Virginia Beach and wrap up on November 15 in Fort Lauderdale. Fans can also catch support sets from P.O.D. and rising artist Kami Kehoe. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Seether remains on the road in support of its ninth studio album, The Surface Seems So Far, released last September via Fantasy Records. Known for enduring anthems like “Broken”, “Fake It” and “Words as Weapons”, the band returned with The Surface Seems So Far, an album that blends their signature aggression with thoughtful introspection.
Describing the new record, the tracklist “set the tone for an honest and exhilarating journey through themes of melancholy (‘Regret’), self-reflection (‘Same Mistakes’), and raw emotion (‘Dead On The Vine’), with catchy hooks and driving bombast emphasizing its many twists and turns.”
Adding to Seether’s already impressive catalog, frontman and songwriter Shaun Morgan, along with bandmates Dale Stewart (bass), John Humphrey (drums), and Corey Lowery (guitar), “sound alternately confident and confessional, full of vitriol and vulnerability throughout The Surface Seems So Far,” which Morgan co-produced with veteran producer Matt Hyde (known for his work with Deftones and Slayer) as engineer and mixer.
Meanwhile, Daughtry is coming off an active touring year of its own. The band supported Disturbed earlier this spring on a North American tour and will hit the road with Creed this summer for the Summer Of ’99 tour.
As one of the best-selling rock bands of the 21st century, Daughtry has earned a global following. Their self-titled debut album Daughtry was the top-selling album of 2007 and still holds the record for fastest-selling rock debut in SoundScan history. The album earned four Grammy nominations, four American Music Awards, and seven Billboard Music Awards, including “Album of the Year.”
Subsequent releases — Leave This Town (2009), Break The Spell (2011), and Baptized (2013) — each achieved platinum status, while Cage To Rattle (2018) went gold. The band’s 2021 album Dearly Beloved produced Top 10 singles like “World On Fire”, “Heavy Is The Crown”, and “Changes Are Coming”. Their 2023 cover of Journey‘s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)”, featuring Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, was another chart success, reaching the Top 10.
Recently, Daughtry returned to its rock roots with the single “Artificial”, which became the band’s first No. 1 at Active Rock radio. The track also sets the stage for their latest EP, Shock To The System (Part One), now available on all platforms.
