The Fell, the modern rock supergroup featuring renowned bassist Billy Sheehan, multi-platinum producer Mike “K.” Krompass, and Australian vocalist Toby Rand, has made a strong comeback with their latest single “Killswitch”. The track delivers a powerful anthem that blends classic rock influences with a modern twist, bringing a heavy and energized sound.
The band describes “Killswitch” as a declaration of taking back control, cutting through distractions, and standing firm against manipulation. They said: “Killswitch is about reclaiming control, cutting off the noise, shutting down manipulation, and powering through chaos with conviction.” They added that it’s “a rally cry for anyone who’s ever felt pushed to the edge.” The track is built on heavy guitar riffs, intense bass lines, and pounding drums, channeling the spirit of late ’80s and ’90s rock while maintaining a fresh, polished production. “This is not nostalgia, this is evolution,” the band stated.
Fans won’t have to wait long for visuals to accompany the music. The video for “Killswitch” is scheduled to be released on July 30. Additionally, a Dolby Atmos version of the track will be available on streaming platforms like Apple, Amazon, and Tidal starting August 15.
The lineup of The Fell boasts some impressive talent. Alongside Sheehan, known for his work with Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, and Sons of Apollo, the group includes Krompass, whose production and guitar work have been featured with Smash Mouth, Nelly Furtado, Everybody Loves An Outlaw, and Dead Romantic. Rand, recognized from Rockstar: Supernova, Juke Kartel, and Ashen Moon, provides dynamic and commanding vocals on “Killswitch”. Drummer Nick Chiarore, a seasoned session player who has worked with Slash and Steve Vai, completes the band with his precision and energy.
Looking ahead, The Fell has announced more new music. The single “Face Out” is scheduled for release on September 12, followed by “Trippin'” on October 24. Fans can also expect a re-recorded version of their earlier track “Footprints”, featuring Rand on vocals, coming November 28.
The band’s upcoming EP, “Killswitch”, will arrive on October 24 via Crown X Recordings/BCMG Recordings. It will come in special packaging, including both CD and a laser-etched LP. The EP will feature the four streaming singles along with a new exclusive version of “Dancin’ On A Glass Floor”. A limited number of deluxe editions signed by the band will be available through their official webstore.
