At 72, Paul Stanley shows no signs of slowing down. While Kiss may have officially hung up their iconic stage makeup after decades of electrifying performances, Stanley is already gearing up for his next chapter.
His focus now turns to Soul Station, a project that began as a side venture but has evolved into a passion-driven tribute to Motown and Stax classics, with a dash of original music in the same soulful vein.
“We’re just lining up shows and tours now nationally and internationally,” Stanley shares when talking to Michael Christopher of Daily Times, acknowledging the challenges of taking a large ensemble on the road. “It’s financially daunting to take a band of that size out, but selfishly, it’s so rewarding for me because those songs mean so much to me.”
For Stanley, this isn’t just about nostalgia—it’s about embracing a musical spectrum that rejuvenates his creative spirit. “That’s why I think it’s so important for people to not limit themselves in terms of music they listen to, because it is also fortifying and invigorating,” he says.
Despite Kiss retiring from its signature theatrics and world tours, Stanley hasn’t ruled out a return to the stage in some capacity. From the possibility of performing on a Kiss Kruise to reuniting with his bandmates for select appearances, the door remains open.
“Anything’s possible,” Stanley admits. “Kiss is so far from over, though Kiss as we know it is done. But, having our hands and our ideas and our fingers in what Kiss continues as makes all the sense in the world. So, I look forward to whatever comes next without knowing what comes next. But I’m open to it all.”
Beyond music, Stanley continues to nurture his artistic side. Fans will have a unique opportunity to connect with him through exclusive art showcases this weekend. He’ll appear at the Wentworth Gallery at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City on Friday, Nov. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the Wentworth Gallery at The Mall at Short Hills on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.
