The trailer for Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow has arrived, giving fans a first look at what promises to be a landmark moment in rock history. The global livestream will feature Ozzy Osbourne’s final live performance, reuniting the original Black Sabbath lineup for the first — and last — time in 20 years.
Scheduled for July 5, the event will be broadcast live from Birmingham’s Villa Park stadium. Viewers can watch the raw livestream beginning at 3:00 p.m. and replay it in full for 48 hours afterward. Access is available through www.backtothebeginning.com, following overwhelming global demand and a petition from fans eager for a way to be part of the show.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy‘s wife and manager, explained the decision to make the event available worldwide: “We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn’t get tickets to the show, and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a livestream of the show. Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn’t let them down.”
The livestream is being produced and distributed by Mercury Studios, known for One To One: John & Yoko, American Symphony, and Metallica Saved My Life. They’re teaming up with Kiswe, the platform behind the record-breaking BTS concert stream. Kelly Sweeney, managing director of Mercury Studios, said: “Mercury Studios is incredibly proud to be involved in capturing this monumental milestone at Villa Park.
Back To The Beginning will be an unforgettable experience, and our aim is to deliver this moment to fans worldwide, wherever they are, so they don’t miss out on seeing music history being made.”
The all-day event, produced by Live Nation, will be hosted by actor Jason Momoa and include a special performance from a supergroup of rock legends. The lineup includes Duff McKagan and Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), K.K. Downing (Judas Priest), Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne), Wolfgang Van Halen (Van Halen, Mammoth WVH), and Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine).
“It’s an endless number of people,” Sharon said. “They’re going to be doing some Sabbath songs, some Ozzy songs, and they’ll all mix together. Different little groups will be coming on, but they’re all icons.”
While Black Sabbath last played in its original lineup in 2005, this performance marks a true farewell. According to Sharon, this will be Ozzy‘s last show, especially given his health challenges in recent years, including spinal surgery and Parkinson’s disease.
The Villa Park performance is intended to bring closure not just for fans, but for Ozzy himself.
“Ozzy didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there’s no been no full stop,” Sharon explained. “This is his full stop.”
All proceeds from the event will support Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice, which is supported by Aston Villa.
