Finnish melodic death metal masters OMNIUM GATHERUM have announced their Origin North American Tour 2022. The band will be hitting the road for their headline tour with support from Allegaeon and Century Media label-mates Black Crown Initiate starting on February 26th in Brooklyn, NY and wrapping on March 27th in Boston, MA. The band recently their new single and music video for “Fortitude”. The track followed the release of “Paragon” and “Reckoning”, which are all off their forthcoming album “Origin,” out on November 5th worldwide via Century Media Records. ’Fortitude’ was filmed at Munapirtti, an island in the Southeast Finland, near Kotka. This cabin is the sacred sanctuary, our secret lair in the woods, where we have rehearsed many many bandcamps before entering the studios to record new albums since ‘New World Shadows’. ”‘Reckoning’ is a certain powersong or an uplifting song which we needed to rise from the depths of a past year, and it was the last song we wrote for the new album. Adult oriented death metal at its finest glory, that dark and shiny place where Def Leppard and death metal meets. Death Leppard, maybe? The music video saved a warm memory from a very hot summer day in my hometown of Kotka, where we played at the rocks of the beautiful island of Rankki. Lying on the rocks zipping cold beer and driving with the boats at the sea. Kotka isn’t that far from Miami, except geographically,” states OMNIUM GATHERUM guitarist Markus Vanhala.
Markus Vanhala (guitars, clean vocals) adds: “…that leads us to the near past times of the band. Not only some virus but also weird lineup changes made our last year really difficult. But Finnish perseverance means that hard times and crisis are made to take on as a challenge, overcome them and refine yourself better. So here we are, back on track stronger than ever!
