Linkin Park — Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Joe Hahn, Emily Armstrong, and Colin Brittain — have dropped a powerful new single, “Heavy Is The Crown”, now available for streaming. This song serves as the official anthem for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, marking the band’s debut collaboration with Riot Games.
With its hard-hitting sound, the track is poised to resonate not only within the fast-paced world of League of Legends but also across major music festivals worldwide. This release paves the way for Linkin Park’s highly anticipated album, “From Zero,” their first since 2017, which is set for release on November 15 (Pre-order it HERE)
Currently on a sold-out six-date arena tour for “From Zero,” the band has announced three additional stadium shows in 2024, set to take place in Paris, Dallas, and São Paulo. Tickets will be available to LP Underground fan club members starting September 25, with general sales opening on September 27.
“Heavy Is The Crown” comes on the heels of the band’s first new music in seven years, “The Emptiness Machine.” The track became an instant global success, charting in the Top 5 on Spotify’s Global chart and hitting No. 1 on both Alternative and Rock Radio. It also climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative and Rock Airplay charts and secured a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 21. Since its release, “The Emptiness Machine” has garnered over 95 million streams on Spotify and 28 million views on YouTube. Meanwhile, Linkin Park has surpassed 54 million monthly listeners on Spotify, making them the top-streamed rock band on the platform and one of the 40 most-streamed artists globally.
Recently, the band performed “The Emptiness Machine” on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, marking their return to late-night television. The song has been met with widespread acclaim, with The New York Times describing it as a “bombastic new track,” and The Los Angeles Times praising the band’s resurgence, stating, “Linkin Park comes roaring back with more than an echo of its past.” In a cover feature, Billboard highlighted “From Zero,” noting its “renewed energy” and commending the band for maintaining a sense of urgency throughout their much-anticipated comeback.
