Hatebreed, the Connecticut hardcore and metal veterans, have released their first new track in almost five years. The single, titled “Make The Demons Obey”, offers fans a glimpse of the band’s latest material since the release of their 2020 album Weight of The False Self. The new song is available for streaming now.
Earlier this year, in April, Hatebreed announced the revival of the once-annual Summer Slaughter Tour, which made its return in 2025. The tour kicked off on July 8 in St. Petersburg, Florida, and is scheduled to conclude on July 28 in Grand Rapids. Supporting acts for this year’s edition include Fugitive, Gridiron, Incite, Escuela Grind, and Snuffed on Sight, performing on select dates.
While the band continues their touring schedule, they are doing so amid difficult news. Last month, guitarist Wayne Lozinak departed from Hatebreed‘s European tour following the diagnosis of a brain tumor. He is set to undergo a craniotomy, a surgical procedure that involves opening the skull to access the brain, on August 4th.
Despite this development, Hatebreed has maintained its tour commitments in both Europe and the U.S. Matt Bachand has stepped in as touring guitarist, while Carl Schwartz of First Blood and Terror is handling bass duties. Lozinak, who rejoined Hatebreed in 2009, has played a significant role in shaping the band’s sound.
Last fall, Hatebreed marked its 30th anniversary with a North American tour, featuring support from Carcass, Harms Way, and Crypta. Throughout their career, Hatebreed has released eight studio albums and built a reputation for their energetic performances, moving from small venues to major festival stages like Graspop Metal Meeting, Ozzfest, Warped Tour, and Download Festival.
