Former Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini has announced a special masterclass series, marking his return to in-person educational sessions after more than a decade-long hiatus. This is a deep dive into the mind and muscles of a progressive drumming legend, a chance to unlock the secrets behind those mind-bending polyrhythms and gravity-defying fills.
For 13 years, Mangini propelled Dream Theater to greater heights, his technical prowess and musicality seamlessly weaving into the band’s intricate compositions. But long before he was taking the world by storm with John Petrucci and company, he was honing his craft in the shadows, a young prodigy devouring every beat and rudiment he could find.
With a passion for sharing knowledge and fostering musical growth, the Grammy-winning drummer, composer, and music educator invites aspiring drummers and all musicians to participate in a unique opportunity to learn directly from one of the industry’s most accomplished talents.
Mangini sold out his first two classes at Drum Center Portsmouth and Bosse Music School and will conduct more masterclasses throughout January and February 2024. Due to the intimate nature of these sessions, spots are limited, and interested participants in Mangini‘s January 9, 2024, Long Island Drum Center appearance are encouraged to reserve a spot today at THIS LOCATION.
