Drummer Jason Rullo, from the internationally acclaimed prog metal band Symphony X, is venturing into new territories. His new band 3 Rules, with Ron Sanborn on guitar and Artha Meadors on bass, is focused on instrumental music with no boundaries. The end result can sometimes be heavy, melodic or jazzy, depending on what goes through their minds.
3 Rules has just released their debut album “Rule of 3” through a well succeeded GoFundMe campaign. Formed in 2019, the band traverses many different styles without sacrificing melody and songwriting, while somehow combining groove and aggression. Rullo impressively shows many other sides to his drumming skill set as bassist Artha Meadors seems comfortable with anything he throws at him, rhythmically and creatively. As the main songwriter and guitarist, Ron Sanborn draws from his many influences to inventively put it all together while defining a “sound” for the band. Through nine tracks, the trio showcase their individual abilities in their respective instruments, but most importantly, serve the songs. You can find out more information about the band on their official website at this location.
