Following the recent buzz surrounding their upcoming eighth studio album and next summer’s Blackbird Festival in Wales, Alter Bridge has released “Silent Divide”, their first new song in over two years. The four-piece band — Myles Kennedy on vocals and guitar, Mark Tremonti on guitar and vocals, Brian Marshall on bass, and Scott Phillips on drums — deliver a moody, intense track that builds with Kennedy and Tremonti’s signature guitar work before the rhythm section kicks in. The song’s haunting chorus features Kennedy’s chilling vocal line: “Keep your head down, ride out the silent divide.”
A music video for “Silent Divide”, directed by JT Ibanez, has also been released. In the days leading up to the premiere, the band teased fans with short clips. The full video begins with a humorous skit showing Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips calling Kennedy’s mom to convince her to get the band back together, with Kennedy lounging in his mom’s basement. The lighthearted opening transitions into a raw performance of the band playing together in a small room — a nostalgic nod to their early days.
With over 20 years of playing together, Alter Bridge continues to thrive as one of rock’s most acclaimed acts. Known for their dynamic riffs, memorable melodies, and powerful dual-guitar sound, the group plans to carry that momentum into their self-titled eighth album, Alter Bridge, set to drop on January 9, 2026, via Napalm Records. Physical editions of the record are already available for pre-order.
The upcoming album will feature 12 new tracks, showcasing some of the band’s most memorable work to date. Standout songs include “Rue The Day”, “Disregarded”, and “Scales Are Falling”, which fit seamlessly alongside Alter Bridge classics. In “Trust In Me”, Kennedy and Tremonti share lead vocal duties, with Kennedy handling the verses and Tremonti taking over for the chorus. This dynamic is reversed on “Tested And Able”, one of the band’s heaviest tracks to date, featuring a thunderous intro that builds into an unforgettable melody. “Hang By A Thread” is expected to become a crowd favorite thanks to its familiar energy, while the epic album closer, “Slave To Master”, marks the longest song Alter Bridge has ever recorded.
To promote Alter Bridge, the band will launch the What Lies Within tour, starting with a 31-date European leg. The trek kicks off January 15 in Germany and wraps up March 5 in Nottingham, U.K. Daughtry and Sevendust will join as supporting acts.
In addition, the group announced a special one-off acoustic performance on October 1, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. This show will support the Tremonti Family Charity Golf Outing, a benefit started by Tremonti to raise funds for the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS). The cause is close to Tremonti’s heart, as his daughter Stella was born with Down syndrome. Proceeds will go toward NDSS programs focused on education, employment, health, wellness, and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
Alter Bridge’s journey began in 2004 when four experienced musicians united in Florida. Kennedy, Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips combined their unique experiences and shared vision to form a band that has since become a hard rock powerhouse. Over the past two decades, they have overcome challenges, sold out arenas worldwide, and earned nearly one billion streams.
Their debut, One Day Remains, debuted in the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 and went gold. Subsequent albums brought continued success, with Blackbird earning Guitarist magazine’s award for the “Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time,” and ABIII’s single “Isolation” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. In 2013, Fortress earned perfect scores from publications like Kerrang! and Total Guitar. More recently, Walk The Sky topped Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart, while 2022’s Pawns & Kings was hailed by Classic Rock as “the Rolls-Royce of Alter Bridge records.”
As they prepare to release Alter Bridge, the band continues to build on their legacy. The album promises to deliver the soaring riffs, massive hooks, and jaw-dropping solos that have defined their career while pushing their sound into new territory.
