Report From the Road: RIVERSIDE’s Mariusz Duda Talks Experiencing Wasteland in North America

In the midst of their longest tour of North America, Riverside leader Mariusz Duda takes some time to speak with Scott Medina right before taking the stage in the beautiful Boulder Theater, in Denver, Colorado. Their conversation focuses on the band’s experience on tour and how the evolution of Wasteland is bringing Riverside to a new stage in their career. Riverside have proven to be one of the most popular contemporary bands in the progressive rock scene. Mixing ambient, metal and progressive influences into their songwriting, Riverside offer what Duda calls “melancholic rock”. Having endured tragedy personally and as a band, notably with the passing of their iconic lead guitarist over three years ago, Riverside continue to blaze new trails and expand their audience as they reinvent themselves.
