The Black Crowes, the Grammy- and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-nominated rock band led by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark 1994 album Amorica with a deluxe reissue box set. This special edition, available as either a 5LP or 3CD collection, chronicles the band’s creative journey and evolution leading up to the release of Amorica.
The deluxe reissue is scheduled to be released on November 14, 2025, through UMe.
To mark the announcement, The Black Crowes have shared “Bitter, Bitter You”, an unreleased track from the Amorica recording sessions. The song reflects the raw emotion and distinctive sound that defined this era of the band’s music.
A key highlight of the deluxe box set is Tallest, a studio album containing nine newly mixed songs from the legendary Tall sessions. Tall, which was recorded before Amorica, was ultimately shelved by Chris and Rich as they decided to shift their creative direction, leading to the birth of Amorica.
Producers George Drakoulias and Martin Pradler revisited the original multitrack recordings to create new mixes for this release. Tallest also features three never-before-heard tracks: “Bitter, Bitter You”, “Title Song”, and “Paris Song”, an instrumental piece that would later evolve into the Amorica favorite “Cursed Diamond”.
Also included in the deluxe edition is “The Marie Laveau Sessions”, a collection of seven unreleased studio recordings captured in October 1992 at Kingsway Studios in New Orleans, Louisiana. These tracks were recorded on a day off during the band’s High High The Moon Tour and showcase songs developed during their soundchecks.
Additionally, the set contains four live recordings from The Black Crowes’ worldwide live radio broadcast, which premiered Amorica at AIR Studios in London on October 25, 1994.
The Amorica album has been fully remastered from the original 1/4″ production master tape by Chris Athens. This updated version also includes three B-sides: a cover of “Taj Mahal’s Chevrolet”, as well as new mixes of “Song Of The Flesh” and the instrumental track “Sunday Night Buttermilk Waltz”.
For vinyl collectors, the LP box set comes packed with exclusive memorabilia, including a fanzine featuring an in-depth interview with Chris and Rich about the creation and evolution of Amorica, a 20″x30″ poster, a bumper sticker, and a slip mat.
The anniversary edition revisits some of the band’s most beloved tracks, such as “Wiser Time”, “Descending”, and “Gone”, while also shining a light on deeper cuts that reveal The Black Crowes’ fearless experimentation during this era.
Since their formation, The Black Crowes have cemented their place as one of rock’s most iconic and unapologetic bands, known for their raw energy, soulful swagger, and a catalog of music that has influenced generations.
After reuniting in 2019, Chris and Rich reignited the passion that initially propelled the band to fame, performing more than 150 shows across 20 countries. Their recent career milestones include receiving their first Grammy nomination in over 30 years for Happiness Bastards in the “Best Rock Album” category, as well as a 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination.
Earlier this year, the band also celebrated the 25th anniversary of their legendary performances with Jimmy Page by re-releasing Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes: Live At The Greek in March 2025.
Even after decades in the spotlight, The Black Crowes remain dedicated to delivering their signature brand of unpolished, hard-hitting rock and roll. Their music continues to embody everything fans love about the genre — no gloss, no gimmicks, just pure rhythm and blues delivered with grit and heart.
