After years of speculation and a hugely successful South American tour, Tarja Turunen and Marko Hietala are bringing their epic reunion to Europe this September, starting in Germany.

This exciting collaboration goes beyond just reliving the past. Tarja will be showcasing her extensive solo career, including hits from her recent “Best Of Tarja – Living The Dream” album. Fans can also expect to hear their acclaimed duet, ‘Left On Mars’, which has received widespread acclaim.

On his part, Marko will also be gracing the stage with his own band before joining forces with Tarja for a powerful co-headlining performance. The chemistry between these two legendary vocalists is undeniable, and after their emotional reconciliation, this tour promises to be truly unforgettable.

Tarja and Hietala surprised Swiss fans, back in 2023, with a duet performance of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. In a interview with Chaoszine, Tarja admitted to feeling nervous before taking the stage with Marko for the first time in 18 years. The Switzerland performance wasn’t a one-off. The duo followed it up with a co-headlining show in Finland, where each artist performed with their own band before coming together for the duet. Tarja described the experience as “pure emotion” and a turning point in their relationship.

The emotional weight of the reunion seems to have resonated with fans as well. Tarja noted: “I believe that Marko was nervous as well to meet up with me, but we were both very excited to go back to the stage and to sing the song. We sang ‘Phantom Of The Opera’ in Switzerland for the first time. Then we went over to Finland to perform it again, … It was pure emotion. I think it was really beautiful, but it made me kind of… I was, like, ‘I’m in peace,’ sort of. The feeling was great. I think it was even more for Marko, because I saw him standing there after my concert, when I finished my set, and he came like almost in tears, saying that this was important. We reconnected, and it’s great.”

“It’s a new relationship with him,” Tarja said of their renewed friendship in an interview with Thiago Rahal Mauro of Metal Musikast. “We’ve both grown and changed, he’s not the same person anymore than he was in the band. He has changed a lot, and many years have passed by. I’ve changed myself. Life has changed us. So it is a new relationship, let’s say. And it had made me very happy to get to know him better after all these years.”
