Grindcore veterans Brujeria have had to cancel all of their upcoming shows due to an unexpected and severe medical emergency.
On Monday, September 16, the band issued a statement through their social media channels, saying: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates due to a serious medical emergency. We deeply apologize to our fans and will provide updates as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your understanding.”
Guitarist Anton Reisenegger shared the news on his own social media, adding, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern. I’m okay, but I can’t really say much more at the moment.”
The news follows the recent passing of longtime Brujeria vocalist and sampler Ciriaco “Pinche Peach” Quezada, who died in July 2023 at the age of 57.
Brujeria’s latest album, “Esto Es Brujeria,” their fifth full-length record, was released in September 2023 via Nuclear Blast Records.
