SCORPIONS Reveal New Single ‘Shining of Your Soul’ From “Rock Believer” Album

It’s about the moment in a person’s life that must be one of the most frequently interpreted emotions, be it in rock, pop or in electronic music: a moment the French call amour fou (the significance of this sudden emotion and its intensity being considered to be almost obsessive).

But what the SCORPIONS primarily wanted to express in their song “Shining of Your Soul” is that breathtaking emotion caused by the sudden realization, as the lyrics’ author, SCORPIONS vocalist Klaus Meine, puts it: “When someone enters the room and you sense an aura that makes everything else fade into the background. When the atmosphere changes inexplicably, and one is enveloped in a warm glow. The shining of a soul.”

That moment, which the band describes on the new lead single lifted from their current, brilliant album “Rock Believer,” (“I can’t stop believing, it’s more than a feeling, and when you come through the door, I see the shining of your soul), also illustrates one of the unsolved mysteries of our emotional world, those mythical moments in our encounters with other people.

At the same time, “Shining of Your Soul” is one of the very few love songs on “Rock Believer.” Enjoy it below.

Does a band whose musical career will span 50 years from the release of their first phenomenal album success “Lonesome Crow” to the arrival of “Rock Believer” in February 2022 still have the bite, the toughness, and the brute force that it takes to create and record one or two dozen brand new tracks? Aren’t their 18 studio albums to date, their platinum and double-platinum awards, garnered around the globe, enough for these relentless musicians? Is there still enough gas in the tank to keep going? One of their songs provides the answer to these questions: “Let’s play it louder play it hard / Laid back and a little dark / Give me a dirty riff my friend / There’s gotta be more gas in the tank.”

Scorpions are one of the world’s most important rock bands of recent decades, having sold more than 120 million records to date, played over 5,000 concerts, and created a timeless classic in their legendary single “Wind of Change,” which dominated the international charts and still is the best-selling single worldwide by a German artist. Countless awards, a star on the Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame, and more, hits such as “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and “Still Loving You,” among others, followed. Their success to date impressively underlines the influence that the Scorpions continue to have on the rock music scene. Their latest album “Rock Believer will be out on Universal’s Spinefarm label in the U.S.

“Rock Believer” the credo of their new album, will also be the moniker of their upcoming tour. In March and April 2022, the band is set to perform at the Planet Hollywood Resorts & Casino in Las Vegas as part of its residency, followed by a European tour scheduled to kick off with a number of shows in Germany in June 2022 — with more concerts on a global level in the pipeline.

SCORPIONS‘ new album will mark their first release since 2017’s “Born To Touch Your Feelings – Best Of Rock Ballads”, which was an anthology of new and classic material. The band originally intended to record the new album in Los Angeles with producer Greg Fidelman, whose previous credits include SLIPKNOT and METALLICA. However, because of the pandemic, some of the initial work was done with Greg remotely, after which SCORPIONS opted to helm the recordings themselves with the help of their engineer Hans-Martin Buff.

Ex-Mötorhead drummer Mikkey Dee rounded out and completed, for the first time, the legendary SCORPIONS sound. The sound of the new album has massive energy, delivers a real adrenaline rush and shows uncompromising quality. It leaves absolutely no doubt what kind of power the rock legends still bring to the table and will undoubtedly deliver on the road.

2022 is set to be a monumental year for the band. 50 years ago, on January 22nd, 1972, SCORPIONS released their acclaimed debut album and launched an unparalleled international career. They will celebrate this milestone with the world by delivering a phenomenal new album and bringing people back together at their shows. SCORPIONS will kick off their “Rock Believer” world tour in March 2022 in Las Vegas where the band will play nine shows as part of their residency at Planet Hollywood Hotel. Afterwards they will cross the Atlantic to Europe where they will play six concerts in France and six shows In Germany supported by Wolfgang Van Halen‘s new band MAMMOTH WVH.
