Pantera has announced changes to their touring schedule in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s recent passing, choosing to take time off the road to grieve and honor someone they say was more than just a musical icon.

In a heartfelt statement shared on their social media platforms, the band wrote: “Ozzy wasn’t just a legend who shaped the very foundation of heavy metal and inspired Pantera from the beginning — he was family. A mentor, a brother, and a constant presence in our lives both on and off the stage. The bond we shared with him ran far deeper than music.”

They went on to explain their need for a temporary pause in touring: “In light of this profound loss, we need time and space to grieve — to be with our families, our crew, and each other as we process and honor the life of someone who meant so much to us.”

“Out of respect, and to allow members of our team the time to mourn, we will be rescheduling and canceling a handful of shows.”

Two upcoming performances have been rescheduled. The July 28 concert in Saratoga Springs, NY will now take place on September 9. Meanwhile, the July 31 show in Holmdel, NJ has been moved to September 8.

However, several other dates have been canceled altogether. These include:

  • July 29 – Gilford, NH
  • September 8 – Birmingham, AL
  • September 10 – Virginia Beach, VA

For fans affected by the cancellations, Pantera provided clarity on refunds: “If you purchased through Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued automatically; there is nothing further ticket holders need to do. If you purchased from a third-party reseller (StubHub, SeatGeek, VividSeats, etc.), please reach out to your point of purchase.”

The band’s decision reflects the deep personal connection they felt with Ozzy Osbourne, not just as an influence, but as a close companion throughout their career.
