Germany’s finest progressive death metal band OBSCURA and German melodic death/doom metallers NAILED TO OBSCURITY are proud to announce their “North American Moment Tour” with headliners DARK TRANQUILLITY. The 46-date date trek will kick off on September 2nd, 2021 in Reading, PA. It will make stops in Toronto, Minneapolis, and Dallas before concluding on October 19th, 2021 in New Bedford, MA.
OBSCURA‘s Steffen Kummerer states, “OBSCURA is coming back to North America! This time we share the stage with veteran Swedish death metal band DARK TRANQUILLITY. Supported by death doom act and label-mates NAILED TO OBSCURITY, we will perform across the United States and Canada – Don’t miss the North American Moment Tour, secure your tickets and be part of the shows!”
NAILED TO OBSCURITY comments, “We are super stoked to be part of this amazing tour package! It will be the first time ever for us to play in the US and Canada and we can’t wait to hit the road with these amazing bands and people. Now let’s all keep our fingers crossed that this tour can happen next year, so we can all experience the joy of a concert and live music again!”
“It’s hard to even imagine this happening,” says DARK TRANQUILLITY, given the global pause on touring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “But I really hope so and it’s going to be very, very awesome. It’s been a while and it will be a while still, but we’re coming back to America. OBSCURA and NAILED TO OBSCURITY will be with us and we cannot wait to hit the stages with these awesome bands and see you all again. Let’s make sure things get back to normal and that this can happen. We miss you and cannot wait to get to share our music with you again.”
Tickets for the tour can be purchased at enterthevault.com.
OBSCURA was formed by Steffen Kummerer in 2002 and established its reputation by releasing five studio albums that have been highly acclaimed by fans and press alike. Putting great emphasis on hooks and songwriting, OBSCURA became one of the modern age elites within the genre. Their latest album “Diluvium“ is a stunning achievement for the illustrious quartet and a landmark release for progressive metal as a whole. Complete with all the band’s signature elements plus groundbreaking polyrhythms, dramatic songwriting, and jaw-dropping virtuosity, OBSCURA raised the bar with an album that will go down in the annals of metal history as one of the most astonishing performances the genre has to offer. Closing a ten-year long-lasting chapter with the release of “Diluvium,” the band is working in full motion on a follow up while preparing the NORTH AMERICAN MOMENT TOUR alongside DARK TRANQUILLITY, supported by NAILED TO OBSCURITY.
For more than ten years, NAILED TO OBSCURITY from Northern Germany have successfully developed their distinctive style, somewhere between melodic death metal and doom with progressive influences. Their underground debut “Abyss…“exhibited these rare first glimmers, but their albums “Opaque“(2013) and “King Delusion” (2017) especially showed a real evolution within their sound, allowing the band to take some huge steps, leading up to their critically-acclaimed Nuclear Blast debut “Black Frost,” which was released in early 2019. Their melancholic songs never fall short of the necessary brutality, and always create a distinct dynamic which mesmerizes the listener who profoundly experiences every note and every word. This magic has already won over the fans of festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and Party San Open Air as well as those who attended their tour throughout Europe as main support to DARK TRANQUILLITY, tours with AMORPHIS, SOILWORK, JINJER, EQUILIBRIUM, and LORD OF THE LOST plus their appearances alongside renowned acts such as ARCH ENEMY, PARADISE LOST and AT THE GATES.
