Les Claypool‘s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade has released a pro-shot video of their performance of Pink Floyd‘s ‘Pigs’ live from the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado. The video, was taken during the band’s summer tour, which saw them perform Pink Floyd‘s entire “Animals” album in full.
Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade is a side project of the Primus bassist, who formed the band in 1990. The current lineup of the band features Claypool on bass, Paulo Baldi on drums, Mike Dillon on percussion, Sean Lennon on guitar, Harry Waters on keys, and Skerik on horns.
The band’s version of ‘Pigs’ is a faithful recreation of the original, but with Claypool‘s own unique spin. The bass-lines are funky and playful, while the vocals are both menacing and satirical. The video also features some impressive visuals, including a giant inflatable pig that floats above the stage.
The release of the ‘Pigs’ video comes as Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade prepares for their upcoming The Hunt For Green October tour, kicking off on October 11 in Oakland, California and will run through November 11.
In a statement, Claypool said that he was “excited” to share the video of ‘Pigs’ with fans. “We had a great time performing this song on tour, and I think the video captures the energy of the performance perfectly,” he said. “I hope fans enjoy it.”
The video is a must-watch for any fan of Les Claypool, Pink Floyd, or just great music in general. It is a powerful and memorable performance that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
