In an exclusive interview with Portugal’s Metal Global, Kreator‘s frontman Mille Petrozza shared exciting updates about the band’s forthcoming album. Following the success of their 2022 release “Hate Über Alles,” fans have been eagerly anticipating what’s next for the legendary thrash metal band.
Petrozza revealed that the songwriting process for their next album is well underway. “I’m starting to put ideas together. I have some demos. I have some songs. We’re looking at releasing a new album at the beginning of ’26. I have some stuff,” he said, providing a glimpse into the early stages of the album’s development.
Petrozza emphasized his commitment to making the new album truly exceptional. “I do want this next record to really crush, so I need to take my time,” he explained. Reflecting on their previous album, he noted that “Hate Über Alles” had been delayed due to the pandemic, which allowed the band more time to refine their material. This experience has influenced their approach to the upcoming project.
During their tour, the band discussed the lengthy wait for “Hate Über Alles” and how it affected their creative process. “We could have released ‘Hate Über Alles’ a year early,” Petrozza mentioned. Despite the delays, the extra time proved beneficial, as it allowed him to continuously write and gather new riffs. “From that time, I have a lot of riffs. And so I have a lot of material that we can work on.”
While Petrozza has already collected themes and is shaping the lyrical direction of the album, he acknowledges that it is still a work in progress. However, he confidently stated that a 2026 release is realistic, with the possibility of a single dropping in 2025 to build anticipation for the album.
