Italy’s progressive rock alchemists, Kingcrow, continue to etch their legacy of evocative soundscapes and profound lyrical narratives with the release of the title track off their upcoming eighth album. “Hopium” heralds a new zenith in the band’s storied journey, where genres dissolve, and the music becomes an experience beyond the ordinary. “Hopium” comes out August 23 on Season of Mist.
“Hopium” pulsates with an emotional resonance and raw vitality, capturing the essence of Kingcrow‘s relentless pursuit of innovation. Seamlessly intertwining existential introspection with the band’s signature blend of progressive rock, ambient and metal influences, their new single is a manifesto of passion, intricately weaving a tale of wrestling with societal illusions while seeking true inner self.
The playthrough video of ‘Hopium’ was filmed at Hologram Studios in Francavilla al Mare, Italy, which is where Kingcrow‘s new album was mixed. It was directed and edited by Riccardo Nifosì, who also handled the cinematography alongside Giorgio Amadori.
