After years of fan requests and personal reflection, John Bush has officially announced a limited run of concerts focused entirely on the era he fronted Anthrax. The December performances will feature material from the four albums he recorded with the band: Sound of White Noise, Stomp 442, Volume 8: The Threat Is Real, and We’ve Come for You All.

Joining Bush for these shows will be his Category 7 bandmates: Phil Demmel and Mike Orlando on guitars, and Jason Bittner on drums. On bass will be Joey Vera, Bush’s longtime collaborator in Armored Saint and close friend. Regular Category 7 bassist Jack Gibson is unable to take part due to a scheduling conflict.

Bush explained the motivation behind the tour: “I’ve talked about doing this for a long time — and now, I’m finally doing it. Fans constantly tell me how much those records meant to them, and how they miss hearing those songs live. It’s very humbling. The wait is over.”

Speaking about the lineup, he added: “These guys are incredible, badass musicians, and it hit me — why look anywhere else? They’re already right here. It was a total no-brainer.”

Each night, Category 7 will open with their own set before returning to the stage to back Bush for the Anthrax material. The performances will feature fan favorites as well as deeper tracks that haven’t been played live in years.

The current tour dates include:

December 13 – Los Angeles, CA @ Whisky A-Go-Go

December 18 – St. Charles, IL @ Arcada Theatre

December 20 – New York, NY @ Racket

This short run offers a rare opportunity for fans to revisit a significant chapter in metal history. Tickets will go on sale Friday, August 1 at 10 a.m. local time.
