DREAM THEATER Announce Multi-Format Release Of New Live Album “Quarantième:Live à Paris”, Share Live Video For “Overture 1928 / Strange Déjà Vu”

In 2024, GRAMMY® winning, progressive music titans Dream Theater celebrated their 40th anniversary as a band, as well as the return of founding member Mike Portnoy, with a mammoth tour starting at London’s legendary O2 Arena and continuing across the globe.

To coincide with the announcement, the band is releasing the live version of “Overture 1928 / Strange Déjà Vu” via all digital service providers, and a video of the performance can be seen below.

“From the moment we announced our 40th anniversary tour, we knew it would be a very special event for both the band and our fans, and it must be captured. With this release, our performance in Paris is presented so beautifully in both stunning audio and video and really encapsulates this momentous occasion for all to enjoy,” explains John Petrucci.

“We always knew this tour would be unforgettable because not only were we celebrating 4 decades since forming the band, but also the reunion of the band’s classic lineup. The excitement and emotions between us and our fans at each and every show were palpable and totally off the charts! The night captured here in Paris was an epic evening that we can now share with the whole world to celebrate this incredible tour,” adds Mike Portnoy.

Quarantième: Live à Paris is a live presentation of that tour, filmed and recorded live in Paris in front of a huge audience at the Adidas Arena. Performing tracks from across the band’s career, as well as material from their most recent acclaimed studio album, Parasomnia, this stunning audio/visual release documents a very special time in the band’s history.

Presented in several formats, with artwork by longtime collaborator Hugh Syme, Quarantième: Live à Paris will be available as a Limited Deluxe 3CD+3Blu-ray artbook, including 68 pages of photos and artwork as well as bonus material on one of the Blu-ray discs.

It will also be available as a Special Edition 3CD+2Blu-ray Digipak, Limited Deluxe 180g 4LP boxset & digitally. The Blu-Ray includes the full show with Dolby Atmos, 5.1 Surround Sound, and 24-bit high-resolution stereo audio.

Dream Theater is currently on tour in the United States, continuing their An Evening With Dream Theater run that will celebrate the band’s recent chart-topping 16^th studio album, Parasomnia. 

Dream Theater will be performing their latest album in its entirety, as well as performing the entire 7-movement masterpiece “A Change of Seasons” for the first time since Mike Portnoy’s return, as well as other classics and fan favorites from their catalog. The tour is scheduled for 30 cities across the United States, kicking off on September 5th in Reading, PA, and running through October 25th, where it wraps up in Long Island, NY.  The tour promises to be an unforgettable evening of music.
