Atreyu has delivered a powerful visual companion to their song ‘Insomnia’ with a new music video. The clip, directed by J.T. Ibanez, adds depth to the track featured on the band’s latest released album, “The Beautiful Dark of Life” via Spinefarm.

The first chapter, “The Hope of a Spark,” confronts feelings of despair. “The Moment You Find Your Flame” ignites a spark of hope, and the closing chapter, “A Torch in the Dark,” culminates in triumphant self-discovery.

It seamlessly blends elements of metal, punk, alternative, and even classic rock, with dashes of industrial, hip-hop, and pop thrown in for good measure. Atreyu isn’t afraid to get personal. “The Beautiful Dark of Life” lays bare the band’s struggles with anxiety, depression, and self-belief. “This album is the journey we’re all on,” says frontman Brandon Saller. “It’s the journey we’ve shared with the audience through the three EPs. Just like in life, you don’t get the whole picture until you see it all together. This album is that complete picture.”
Bassist/vocalist Marc “Porter” McKnight adds, “We wanted each EP to stand on its own, for each song to connect with listeners individually. But when you bring them all together, it’s like an ‘Aha!’ moment. We hope people will rediscover the songs in a new light and find something new in them all over again.”
The album’s title itself comes from a heartwarming moment. “I was walking with my daughter,” explains Saller, “and she pointed at a shadow under a bridge. She asked me what it was, and I told her it was a shadow. She looked at me and said, ‘Shadows are the beautiful dark of life.'”
