Rock legend Ann Wilson, the powerhouse vocalist and co-founder of Heart, has released the first teaser for her upcoming feature documentary, In My Voice. The 40-second preview is now available for fans to watch.

Told entirely in Ann’s own words, the documentary follows her remarkable 75-year journey — from a childhood marked by constant moves to commanding the stages of the world’s biggest arenas, and now into an exciting new creative chapter. The film includes commentary from family, friends, bandmates, fellow artists, and industry insiders, all offering unique perspectives on Wilson’s life and career. At its core, the documentary highlights the authenticity that has defined Wilson as both an artist and a person.

Drawing from an extensive personal archive of home movies, photographs, journals, and never-before-seen footage, In My Voice gives fans a rare look at Wilson’s life behind the scenes. The film reveals how she discovered her voice, nurtured it over five decades, and allowed it to guide her through moments of fame, struggle, and reinvention.

“This film is my story in my own words, told the way I’ve always wanted to tell it,” says Wilson. “It’s about finding my voice, keeping it alive, and sharing the journey with the people who’ve been part of it all along.”

The documentary is directed by Barbara Hall, a Primetime Emmy-nominated producer and director known for her passion for compelling human stories and her deep connection to music. With more than 25 years of experience, Hall has built a career around authentic and immersive storytelling. She has worked on award-winning specials, documentary films, concert events, and music-centered projects, often securing exclusive access to rare and untold narratives.

In recognition of her work, Hall was honored with the 2025 Women In Film/Nashville Alice Award Trailblazer Award. She is also a member of the Producers Guild of America, the Guild of Music Supervisors, and the Documentary Producers Alliance.

“What an honor to tell the story of one of our greatest rock music voices of all time,” Hall said. “Her voice notwithstanding, her story exceeds a scriptwriter’s imagination, and her courage to share her story is inspiring. She is a master of her craft and is not defined by genre or gender.”

In My Voice is expected to deliver a powerful and honest portrait of Ann Wilson’s life and legacy. More details, including its release date and exclusive content, will be announced soon.

In July 2024, Wilson revealed that Heart was canceling its tour so she could undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis. By September, she shared on social media that her treatments were complete and confirmed she would be ready to return to touring in 2025.

Ann Wilson is celebrated as one of rock’s greatest voices. As the lead singer and songwriter for Heart, she has inspired generations with her powerful vocals and trailblazing presence. Over the last five decades, the band has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Wilson helped pave the way for women in rock as the front-woman of the first female-led superstar hard rock band. Timeless songs like “Barracuda”, “Crazy on You”, “Straight On”, and “Magic Man” have become integral to popular music history.

The current lineup of Heart includes Nancy Wilson (rhythm, lead, and acoustic guitar; vocals), Ann Wilson (lead vocals, flute), Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards, backing vocals), Tony Lucido (bass, backing vocals), and Sean Lane (drums).

With In My Voice, fans will soon experience Ann Wilson’s story like never before — a deeply personal exploration of a career that has shaped the landscape of rock music.
