One of the most successful Brazilian metal bands, Angra have released the live video clip of the track “Black Widow´s Web”, with the band joined by singer Sandy  who originally performed in the studio version of the song along with Arch Enemy’s front-woman Alissa White-Gluz. The live clip shows scenes captured during the band’s 2018 tour in support of their latest studio album “Ømni”, and has already garnered over 90 thousand views, highlighting the cheering welcome given to Sandy by the audience.

“Ømni” is a concept album, a set of science fiction short stories that take place at various places in time, simultaneously. The backbone of the plot is based on the idea that in 2046 an artificial intelligence system will change human perception and cognition. It is a system which will allow conscious communication between present and future human beings. Characters such as time travelers, cavemen, warriors, among others, help tell this story.

Currently formed by Fabio Lione (vocals), Rafael Bittencourt (guitar), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Bruno Valverde (drums), the band held on the same day of the video release a YouTube live-chat to announce their plans for 2021.

Starting on December 12th Angra will release one song a week using footage from the “Ømni” tour – material that was initially meant to become the band’s new DVD filmed at at Tom Brasil in São Paulo. Unfortunately those plans had to be scrapped off due to technical problems while filming. Along with the videos, the songs will also be released on streaming platforms and possibly also on physical media.

Founder and guitarist Rafael Bittencourt also announced that Angra would reissue their entire discography, creating special edition box-set. In addition, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the acclaimed album “Rebirth”, the band will embark in a special tour, with guests to be announced soon. There trek will be comprised of 14 shows, limited to cities in Brazil for the time being. The 12 confirmed tour dates are as follows:

April 30: Manaus
May 1: Recife
May 2: Fortaleza
May 7: Belo Horizonte
May 8: Brasilia
May 9: Goiania
May 14: Porto Alegre
May 15: Curitiba
May 16: Florianópolis
May 21: Vila Velha
May 22: Salvador

Angra toured the album “Ømni” all over the planet, with more than 180 shows, with the record been acclaimed by the public and critics alike. Angra’s trademark formula, a Brazilian style mixed with classical music and heavy metal, is enhanced by different influences such as progressive rock, thrash metal, Latin music, and djent, which transforms the albums into a swirl of modern and familiar.
