After more than 15 years, legendary rock band AC/DC is heading back to South America, marking their first concerts in Brazil since 2009. The group will launch the South American leg of their Power Up Tour on February 24, 2026, at São Paulo’s renowned Cícero Pompeu de Toledo Stadium (Morumbi).
Tickets for the São Paulo performance went on sale November 5, priced between $85 and $320 (R$425 to R$1,590), with online sales managed by Ticketmaster Brazil. However, the pricing has stirred up significant backlash among fans across social media platforms.
On Ticketmaster Brazil’s official Instagram, several concertgoers voiced frustration over the cost. One fan wrote (via Whiplash): “What madness is this for the AC/DC show? Seriously, these absurd prices are out of the question. Even for an AC/DC show, this has gone beyond all limits. It’s been way over the top for a long time!”
Another follower commented: “They’re charging premium prices for the general admission area. They should have split the seating vertically or charged less for those watching from the back, not including fees. What a rip-off.”
Some fans simply couldn’t believe the prices they were seeing. “I almost fell over when I saw the AC/DC prices,” one user shared, while another added, “Remove the ticket fees for AC/DC concerts, they’re completely useless.” A final exasperated fan summed up the frustration with, “AEB runway, same price??? Seriously?”
The Power Up Tour begins in São Paulo before moving on to Chile, Argentina, and Mexico. From there, the band will embark on a 17-date North American run starting July 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and wrapping up September 29 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The tour continues to highlight tracks from AC/DC’s latest studio album, Power Up, featuring the lineup that powered through the U.S. and Canada in 2025: Angus Young on lead guitar, Brian Johnson on vocals, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Chris Chaney on bass, and Matt Laug on drums.
Before heading to North America, the group will complete a nine-show Australian tour beginning November 12 in Melbourne and concluding December 18 in Brisbane, rounding out what’s shaping up to be a massive global trek for the rock icons.
