NYC metallers TENSION RISING‘s have premiered with us the song “No Tears Shed,” the opening track form their recently released album “Penumbra”. Watch it now below.
After a 5 year hiatus and some personnel changes, TENSION RISING is back with a new full length album, “Penumbra”. The album features 10 songs, including the singles released singles, “Find The Betrayer,” “No More Goodbyes,” and “Masquerade”. Released last September 7, 2020, “Penumbra” was largely written during the COVID-19 pandemic, and while it isn’t directly about the pandemic events, the lyrics and music touch on many dark topics that people may relate to while dealing with all of the events taking place in the world.
The band has recently signed on with Death By Metal, and will be exploring gig and festival opportunities for 2021. Due to being unable to play shows in support of their “Penumbra” album, TENSION RISING has been releasing several lyric and play-through videos.
Vocalist Chris Garrigan says “We’re already working on new material, and hope to release a new single (unrelated to Penumbra) before the end of the year, and have an EP in the works for sometime in 2021.” Lead guitarist Nicky Van Page adds: “We’ve been staying busy and keeping our eye on the ball as much as we can with everything going on. We’re hard at work to keep creating new tunes that we can be proud of.”
