South African Rockers Fourth Son South have been hard at work eagerly crafting the follow-up to their 2020 debut album “The Sounds Around Your Head,” and on 21 January 2022 the indomitable quartet unleashed their anticipated EP called “Machine.”

Dutch-born founder, guitarist and vocalist Peter Toussaint penned a potent ensemble of 4 fresh tracks the past year, marked by strong lyrical emphasis on positivity in dark and challenging times. These new tracks are supplemented by a novel mix of their successful 2021 single “Hold On.” The first single from “Machine” is a compelling collaboration with Melissa Osborne called “Tomorrow’s Better,” which we are premiering here today for your listening pleasure. Check out the video below.

Peter Toussaint shares about the track: ‘…”Tomorrow’s Better” is about the confusing life that one can find yourself in. What are the values that you should cherish? And again, if you’re not there yet today, tomorrow is a new day with new light. As soon as I wrote the song “Tomorrow’s Better,” I knew that there should be a male and a female vocalist, responding to each other. Our drummer Carel also plays in a band called Thinking Feet where Melissa does the lead vocals. She’s got an amazing voice and I knew I wanted to do this song with her. Thankfully, she also liked the song and came to the studio to sing her parts. She is such a great person to work with and I’m very glad I asked her…’

Fourth Son South is a rock act formed by Dutch-born guitar maestro Peter Toussaint. The band currently comprises Dale McHardy (Rhythm guitar), Bernhard Viljoen (Bass guitar and vocal harmonies), Peter Toussaint (Lead vocals and lead guitar) and Carel Viljoen (Drums and vocal harmonies).

After his debut solo release “One Day” (2018), Peter enlisted bass player Franco Jamneck and drummer Carel Viljoen and toured as a trio under the name Peter T Band. At the end of 2019, the band recorded their debut EP called “Another Mile” under the name Fourth Son South. This was released in April 2020, just as the world turned to lockdown with Covid-19. During lockdown, Peter wrote and recorded songs that formed the basis of their first full-length album “The Sounds around Your Head.” Guitarist Dale McHardy was subsequently recruited to perfect the live sound and the quartet proceeded to release another single “Hold On” in July 2021.

To date Fourth Son South enjoyed success with their singles “Reflections,” “Positive” and “Hold On” achieving positions on several global charts. In October 2021 Fourth Son South represented South Africa at the international La Ley del Rock Online Festival held in Argentina and Italy.  In February 2022 Bernhard Viljoen replaced Franco Jamneck on bass guitar & vocal harmonies.
