Interview with Roine Stolt (The Sea Within, The Flower Kings, Transatlantic, Kaipa, Agents of Mercy)

In anticipation of the forthcoming debut album release from The Sea Within, we are pleased to present this interview with group founder Roine Stolt. Starting off his progressive rock adventures when he was just 17 with the Swedish band Kaipa in 1974, Roine is perhaps best known for his band The Flower Kings and being an integral member of Transatlantic and Agents of Mercy, in addition to releasing a celebrated album with Jon Anderson “Invention of Knowledge” in 2016.

In this audio interview, Sonic Perspectives correspondent Scott Medina speaks with Roine about The Sea Within’s lineup (in the studio, in concert and beyond), their songwriting process, and what he looks for in a collaborator. They also talk about his connection with Jon Anderson and plans for the future. The Sea Within’s excellent debut album will be released on June 22nd, look for a our album review very soon!
